Harvest is a time of gathering the fruit of that which has been sown - a time of glad tidings, as a flux of increase comes our way. We tend to focus more on this time oppose to the time of sowing. I have come to understand that it should be the other way around, being intentional about what and when we sow with an advantageous end in mind. In the seasons of life we must, like the farmer, be diligent and purposeful about our sowing. Farmers know how to prepare the ground for sowing - mixing in fertilizer and moisture, as well as determining which seeds to sow and the best location for planting, necessary to reap a bountiful harvest. The time of harvest then becomes a reaping of expectation and not a potluck of surprises.
